Some defects are expected during the manufacture of bare printed circuit boards.  It is important therefore, to test every circuit board to assure its electrical integrity.  Every board that fails must be weeded out before it becomes populated with expensive components.  Robotic resistive testing equipment is able to quickly test boards for continuity to assure that every set of points that should be connected to each other in fact is.  The 'shorts test' (to assure that areas of copper that are not supposed to be connected are in fact isolated) can take much longer.  In order to make this kind of testing go faster, GCA created software that limits isolation testing to those areas of copper that are geographically close to each other.  GCA's proximity calculation software was extremely reliable and ran much faster (sometimes 100x faster) than the competitors software.  But GCA did not stop there.  We went on to develop 'True Straight-Line Adjacency' software that increased tester productivity, sometimes by an additional factor of 10.  The largest board testing service bureau uses GCA software exclusively to generate its data.  Hundreds of other customers also know they can count on a reliable result without exceptions or returns.
